Jazz legend Sam Rivers has performed on 6 EMIT concerts over the years. His last concert at the Hickman Theater sold out.

Vocalist and hyper-instrument experimenter Pamela Z performed at the Salvador Dali MUseum on the EMIT series. Her profile is used in the EMIT logo.

Saxophonist Evan Parker performed with SHIM members and was pleasantly surprised when Sam Rivers joined with him in a duet. This concert was at The Lobby.

Robert Dick is the "Jimi Hendrix" of flute and performed with pianist Ursel Schlicht at the SPC Music Center.

Jovino Santos Neto and his Quinteto performed at the Palladium Theater. This EMIT concert was supported by Chamber Music America and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

Mothers of Invention drummer Jimmy Carl Black & Eugene Chadbourne performed on EMIT's "Only A Mother..." concert at the State Theatre. Sadly, Jimmy passed away in late 2008.

Bassist Lisle Ellis performed with What We Live at the Salvador Dali Museum and gave a workshop at St. Petersburg College.

Saxophonist David Liebman and drummer Abbey Rader performed at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo.

Downbeat multi-winner Dave Douglas with his group Charms of the Night Sky performed at Club More. This was a cosponsored concert with WMNF-FM.

SHIM was house band for the EMIT series for its first 8 years with David Irwin, David Pate, Jim Stewart, TJ Glowacki, Keith Hedger and David Manson as members.

Other Dimensions in Music (with Roy Campbell, Rashid Bakr, William Parker & Daniel Carter) was featured at Eckerd College.

EMIT was the first presenter to bring the Moving Current Dance Collective to Pinellas County. The group has performed on two EMIT concerts at the Palladium Theater.

L.A. saxophonist/composer Vinny Golia performed with guitarist Scott Fields & drummer Toshi Makihari.

Amy Denio performed twice of the EMIT series... once at the Salvador Dali Museum and once at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art.

Chicago bassist Jason Roebke and Japanese dancer Akako Kato performed on the EMIT series at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art on 4/12/03.

Tubist Tom Heasley created landscapes of low brass with his tuba and digital delay processors at the Palladium Theater.

Chamber Music America has sponsored two EMIT concerts and given a national programming award to EMIT.

Korean composer Kim Park brought her Hadar Dance Ensemble to St. Petersburg College for a concert. This was one of many EMIT concerts presented at SPC.
