Support the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival & EMIT, Tax-Free: The Power of Your IRA

If you are 70½ or older, you have a unique opportunity to support EMIT while potentially lowering your tax bill. By making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA, you can turn your retirement savings into local masterpieces, vibrant performances, and essential community programming.

Why Give Through Your IRA?

Reduce Your Taxable Income: A QCD allows you to transfer up to $105,000 annually directly to a 501(c)(3) without that money being added to your adjusted gross income (AGI).

Satisfy Your RMD: If you are age 73 or older, QCDs count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year. It’s a smart way to meet your obligation without increasing your tax bracket.

Maximize Your Impact: Because the funds go directly to us, 100% of your gift goes toward our mission rather than being diminished by federal income taxes.

No Itemizing Necessary: You can receive this tax benefit even if you take the standard deduction.

How to Make a Gift

Contact your IRA custodian: Request a "Qualified Charitable Distribution" form.

Designate EMIT: Direct the distribution to us at 620 31st St. North - St. Petersburg, FL 33713 - Tax ID #31-1790493.

Witness the Impact: Your gift ensures that the arts remain accessible, innovative, and thriving in our community.

Note: To qualify for the current tax year, the check must be issued by your provider and processed by December 31.

We recommend consulting with your financial advisor or tax professional to ensure a QCD is the right strategy for your specific situation.

Our Code of Ethics

EMIT pays musicians for performances. We do not ask musicians to play for free. That includes local musicians. We respect their skills and believe that it is our duty to be organized, professional presenters.
