Salvador Dali Museum

SWARM! invaded the Salvador Dali Museum on Friday, March 30 in an event designed by installation artist Wojtek Sawa and composer David Manson. Dutch jazz trombonist Wolter Wierbos, dancer Karyn DeLoach, multimedia artist Chip Neville, percussionist Jim Stewart, swarms of trombones, soloists, illuminated balloons, building projections converted the Salvador Dali Museum into a colony of sound, light and movement… a world premiere event presented by EMIT, City of St. Petersburg and the Salvador Dali Museum.

Dutch jazz trombonist Wolter Wierbos can be heard on more than 100 CDs and LPs and has performed with the Mingus Big Band, Henry Threadgill, Gerry Hemingway and hundreds of innovative musicians throughout the world.

Polish born conceptual artist's Wojtek Sawa's work has been presented in galleries, museums, and public spaces in Europe and the United States. During his installations artist, performer, viewer, as well as time and space become part of a creative performance.

David Manson’s diverse composition projects include Zappa repertoire band Bogus Pomp, Fluid Motion with Sam Rivers, Brazilian group O Som Do Jazz and the Florida Symphony Orchestra, to name but a few.
